CicLAvia—South LA (Western Ave) presented by Metro

Ciclavia comes to South Los Angeles this Sunday, June 23. Multiple Block Clubs in the Southwest Area have planned a block party at St. Andrews Park.

There will be an obstacle course, sports activities, and a bubble station for the kids. The Block Clubs would like your input about future programming at the park, so be sure to connect with them.  

On Wednesday, June 19, over 60 Community Intervention Workers (CIWs), officers, and community members across South LA came together in a peace walk, shutting down traffic on Florence between Western Avenue and Normandie Avenue. The focus of the walk was a call for safety as we work together to keep our parks safe this summer. After the walk CIWs gave remarks on how essential it is for us all to enjoy our outdoor spaces safely.

Also on Wednesday, Keep It Run Hundred teamed up with Destination Crenshaw and Nike for a special Juneteenth 5K run at Historic Fire Station #54. Over 800 people joined in on the run!
