For Inner Daily Strength, Let The Weak Say I Am Strong!
Let the weak say I am strong - Joel 3:10
What does it mean to be strong? Does it mean you never feel weak? Does it mean you never feel tired? Does it mean you never feel like giving up? Does it mean you never get discouraged?
Question: Who was the strongest person who ever lived? Tarzan, Samson, Superman, Hercules?
Answer: Atlas. Atlas was the strongest person who ever lived, because He carried the whole world on his shoulders. However, as we all know, Atlas was a fictional character. But there was someone who did carry the whole world on his shoulders, and He wasn’t fictional.
Jesus was the strongest man who ever lived. Being strong does not mean you never know moments of weakness.
Were there times when Jesus was tired? Were there times when He felt disappointed and felt like giving up?
Were there times when He wanted to avoid a situation if at all possible?
The answer to all those questions is YES. The Bible says He was tempted in all points just as we are.
So what made Him strong? He carried His responsibility all the way through to the end.
When the going gets tough, weak people quit. Jesus, for our sakes, did not give up.
Sometimes we need a cause bigger than ourselves, in order to keep going. We might feel like giving up on ourselves, but if we are carrying on our shoulders a little bit of this world that God has entrusted to us, we cannot give up. The Bible says, “Having done all, stand.” There are times when you have done all you know to do, and the only thing left in you is to stand. That is all we need to do. The Bible encourages us to, “Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.” In another passage Paul talks about being “strengthened in the inner man.”
There’s a man inside you, Who already knows what it’s like to carry the weight of the entire world on His shoulders. That’s where you go to get strength.
Right now, the world’s economy is looking pretty weak. But our financial strength is not based on the world’s economy. It’s based on the Word of God. God can give you creative ways to pay your bills. Learn to look for opportunities outside the box. When Jesus needed to pay his taxes, he went fishing!
Who doesn’t know the lyrics to the song …
Give thanks with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ His Son And now let the weak say I am strong Let the poor say I am rich Because of what the Lord has done Give thanks
When we feel weak, we call on the kingdom resources in our inner man, and we call things that are not as though they are. We call ourselves strong, and strength comes. The creative power of those words goes to work, and produces the strength we need for whatever it is we face at that moment. “As the day, so shall your strength be.”
And if we face a difficult situation financially, we don’t go around moaning about the state of the world’s economy like everybody else. We speak the Word. ...“God is supplying all my need.” ..... “Let the poor say I am rich.”
Say out loud with me!
“I am strong. My finances are strong. The economy of God’s kingdom is strong. The kingdom of God is within me. I will not fear the arrow that flies by day, or the Dow Jones that falls by night. It is better to trust the Lord, than to put confidence in man. I put …… my trust …… in the Lord, and I am strong!
