Corona Walmart Remodel, Focuses on Convenience, Customer Service

Project is part of the retailer’s investment in serving today’s customers

Corona, CA – Corona residents got their first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter at 479 N. McKinley St. today following a ribbon-cutting celebrating the completion of the project. To make the celebration even bigger, the store donated a total of $5,000 to local community organizations.

The Corona Walmart has gone through an extensive remodel focused on improving convenience and customer service. Customers can now enjoy the following store improvements:

  • State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that allow customers to try laptops, tablets, mobile phones and more before purchase

  • Enhanced baby department with strollers at floor level and easier access to everyday essentials like diapers and formula

  • Improved layout and lighting in the produce and bakery departments

  • An expanded grocery section

  • Upgraded pharmacy with a private consultation room and additional service lanes

  • New lights and register added in the cosmetics area

  • Newly polished concrete floors

  • Expanded Pick-Up-Today services

  • Added fabric-cutting tables in the fabric’s department

“We are thrilled to have our Corona store remodeled to further accommodate the needs of our customers,” said store manager Marion (Russ) Tucker. “The expansion of the food section and the convenient Pick Up Today service, along with the return of the fabric and crafts section, will bring an improved shopping experience for our customers.”

In celebration of the grand reopening, the Corona Walmart provided grants to local organizations, including Corona Police Community Partnership, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School Cheer Booster.

The Corona Walmart store will also be helping families get a healthy start to the new school year with America’s largest single day health fair event. Walmart Wellness Day will kick off the retailer’s busy back-to-school season in Corona on Saturday, July 21. This free event provides students and their families access to health services, including immunizations, health screenings, and in select locations, free vision screenings. Parents will also be able to speak one-on-one with a Walmart pharmacist about any health concerns they have for their children going into the school year.

In mid-April, Walmart announced it expects to spend an estimated $145 million over the next year in California through the opening and remodeling of more than 30 stores as well as the rollout of several in-store and online innovations designed to help busy customers save time and money.
